The Commission on Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Congress will pass today the Project of the Regulation on Environmental Evaluation.

This Regulation is aimed to establish the bases that must govern the evaluation assessment of the plans, programmes and projects that are susceptible of causing negative effects on environment, by granting in all the national territory a high level of environmental protection, with the objective of promoting sustainable development.

Eight contractual conditions from Ryanair are declared null and void

The consumer’s organization OCU suited Ryanair in 2011 for considering abusive and contrary to the protection to consumers some of their contractual clauses. The European Court of Justice’s Advocate General argues against fuel tax

An adviser to the European Court of Justice (ECJ), Nils Whal,  has recommended it should rule that Spain fuel tax, named “Health cent”,  breaches the European Union law, concretely, Council Directive 2008/118/EC of 16 December 2008 concerning the general arrangements for excise duty and repealing Directive 92/12/EEC. The case comes from a transport undertaking from Catalonia, Transportes Jordi Besora S.L, which applies for the devolution of 45.000 Euros for taxes levied between 2005 and 2008.

The General Council of the Spanish Advocacy claims the Governments for the respect to the right to secret of communications between attorney-client

The General Council of the Spanish Advocacy has claimed to the Spanish and European Authorities, the defence to the right of confidentiality in the communications between attorney-client because its revelation is contrary to the right to defence. Amend of the Spanish Legislation in matters of Corporate Governance for Companies.

The Ministry of Economy, Luis de Guindos, has announced the foreseeable modification of the Spanish Legislation in matters of corporate governance in a term of two months, to include the proposals realized by Elvira Rodriguez, the President of the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), agency in charge of supervising and inspecting the Spanish Stock Markets and the activities of all the participants in those markets. The purposes of this new regulation, is to improve efficiency, responsibility and transparency in the management of companies, and subsequently take them to international positions.
